Doing Good Through Blogging About Smoking

I sometimes wonder why I have this blog. I don't make any money on it and it doesn't really provide any tangible benefit to me. But still, getting this information out there to people seems like a worthwhile goal. Maybe this is some kind of a ministry where people can have their lives improved because of something the Lord has put before me.

Perhaps I started web publishing because God wanted me to. Perhaps, He wants people to improve their lives and He's using people like me in this techno-babble sort of way. I'm starting to see that things happen for a reason and so if one person can stop smoking because of this blog or because of my stop smoking website, then perhaps I've done my part. Maybe that one person will live a longer life because they stopped smoking and they'll have this blog/website to thank for it. Although, I wouldn't want the credit, since I personally think God deserves all the credit for any good that comes from me.

So I hope people find this blog interesting. I hope someone will stop smoking because of something they've read here or on my website. That would be pretty cool to impact someone's life like that. As a respiratory therapist, I know I helped people and it always made me feel pretty good.

Sometimes I imagine a world where nobody smokes. Think of it. All the hundreds of billions of dollars spent on smoking-related healthcare would magically be used for something else. Who knows, maybe we'd all get tax breaks.

This is just one of those random ramblings, we'll get back to the research studies and news next time.
